Jay Harrison Chubb, 58, of Ladson, SC passed away on Sunday, September 7th, 2014.
He was born in Baltimore, MD to Harrison and Billie Chubb. Jay graduated from North Charleston High School in 1974.
Jay was an automotive paint and body specialist in the Charleston area, working for local employers such as: Pearlstine Distributors, Inc., Bellwright Industries, Inc., and American LaFrance. He attended Heritage Holiness Church in Ladson, SC.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Chubb. He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Dutton and son-in-law Jeff Dutton; mother, Billie Chubb; sister, Daudie Colson and her husband John Colson; brother, Scott Chubb and his wife, Dawn Chubb and nephews Matthew and Ryan Chubb; and close family friend, Jimmy Pitstick.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heritage Holiness Church in his memory. 3836 Ladson Rd., Ladson, SC 29456.
A memorial of his life and gathering of family and friends will be held at North Charleston United Methodist Church in Davis Hall on Friday, September 12th, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carolina Funeral Home, N. Charleston, SC.

We got to know Jay when we owned Gabby's on West Montague.He always had a smile on his face and had many friends. We were so very sorry to learn of his passing. We felt it a privilege to know him and have him as a friend. He will be missed. Our prayers and deepest sympathy to the family.

I'm glad I had the chance to communicate with Jay through his precious mom about a month ago. From the old days in Sunday School to some crazy fun times in the 80's, he has been that old flame that has remained in my heart. Sending love to you all.
