Jean Garneau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 9 to May 11, 2017.
Jean Garneau (née Richardson) 1923-2017

We lost Jean on the 7th of May 2017. She was born 16 Feb 1923 in Sussex, NB and went on to become a mother extraordinaire. She grew up through the depression living in such places as St-John NB, Toronto, Boston and eventually St-Andrews-by-the-sea, wherever her father could find work. She trained in nursing where she met her future husband André, a young infantry officer. They married in 1946 and were together until his death in 2004.

She had 4 boys, Braun (deceased in 1996), Marc, Charles and Philippe to whom she taught all the important things in life; honesty, dependability, self-confidence, being on time and owning up to your mistakes.

She lived with her family in Canada, Germany, England and Yugoslavia, was fiercely intelligent, opinionated and strong willed and, as she grew older, did not hesitate to tell you what she thought. We loved her madly and will miss her terribly. Thank God, she left us such great memories.

One of our lovely residents at Place Kensington. Always a pleasure when she came to the front desk reception.

Jean, I'll miss your brilliant blue eyes and your irrepressible spirit.
To all Jean's family, you were lucky to have her, and she to have you.
