Jean Dolores Goranson,90, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, after a short illness. Surrounded by her loved ones in her final moments, Jean's departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and cherished her.

Born on December 9, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, Jean was the daughter of Albert and Myrtle Kaenel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers. Throughout her life, Jean embodied warmth, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to family.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her soulmate, John Williams. Together they shared many joyful years and created a life filled with love and beauty. They split their time between homes in Kentucky and Illinois, where they cultivated not only memories but also a stunning garden sanctuary that became a source of pride and peace for them both.

She was a devoted mother to Linda Kendrick; Sharon Florio and her husband Leo; Erik Christian and his wife Beth; and Paul Goranson. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Shanna Rigg; Marie Verseman and her husband Rick; Elissa Morrow and her husband Michael; Justin Fogerty; Joey Florio; Nicole Smith and her husband Jeff; Cole Fogerty; Jennifer Kendrick; Jeremy Christian and his wife Liz; and Emily Christian. Jean also leaves behind numerous great grandchildren who knew her affectionately as "Gigi," a name that came to symbolize joy, laughter, and unconditional love.

Jean is also survived by her beloved sister Mare Powell and cherished niece Alicia Powell. Their bond remained strong throughout the years a testament to the enduring power of family.

Known for her radiant smile and generous spirit, Jean had an innate ability to make others feel seen and cared for. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her zest for life was infectious whether she was dancing with abandon or sharing one of her unforgettable sayings with those around her.

Above all else, Jean found immense joy in being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her presence brought light into every room she entered, especially when she was with the younger generations of her family who adored their Gigi beyond measure.

Jean Dolores Goranson's life was one marked by love given freely and received abundantly. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with kindness, laughter, strength, and grace.

Aunt Jean you will be missed. I will always remember all your stories and our talks about my Dad. I remember calling you and we talked for almost 3 hours! At the end of our talk you said, Well Susan I think we solved all the problems of in the world.
