Michael DiGiovangiacomo Obituary
Born in Italy, a son of the late Armando and Marinda (Lepore) DiGiovangiacomo, he had been the beloved husband of Brigida DiGiovangiacomo for 48 years.
He was the devoted father of Lisa M. Cardente and her husband Michael, Linda I. Zednik and her husband Thomas Sr., Bridget Tootell and her husband Thomas, and Michelle Calabro and her husband James; cherished grandfather of Thomas Zednik Jr., Michael Cardente and Lily Calabro; brother of Antonio, Giacomo, Carmino, Josephine, Lucia, Bina, Loretta and the late Pasquale.
Mr. DiGiovangiacomo was the co-owner of Armando Ricci and Sons Inc. for 27 years.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 4-8 p.m. with a funeral on Friday at 9 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886. Words can't express how sorry I am for your loss. It's pretty clear through all of the kind words and memories being shared, Mike was certainly one of a kind! You were all so lucky to have such an amazing father, husband, and grandfather. I am so grateful I got to know him and could share in happy times in his life. He truly was an incredible man, and will be missed by so many! I will never forget his smile. He will always be with you guiding you as he always did. I love you all, and again, I am so sorry.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire DiGiovangiacomo family. Mike was a very special man. There are few people in the course of a lifetime that have that special effect on one's life. Mike was capable of that with his special smile. I just always remember him smiling. What a great loss, hopefully all who knew him can remember the joy and zest for life he had every day.

Dear Bridget and Family,
My deepest condolences. From the time I met Mike more than thirty years ago, I realized that he was a very special man. He had remarkable physical strength, a contagious sense of humor and a very kind heart. I still remember the many Italian and English phrases he would recite to make everyone smile. Words cannot express how sorry I am for the loss you are experiencing. Mr. D was a good husband and father and was the best in later years in his favorite role as Grandfather. He was honest, kind and funny just an overall Great Man. I have many good memories in the DiGio House when he was at his happiest with family and friends enjoying his wine and those great meals prepared by your mom at dinner. There is certainly a new angel in Heaven where he will continue to watch over each of you his "pops".
