Jean Lucille Little

Born: June 10, 1934

Died: January 13, 2025 (age 90)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Little who died peacefully on January 13th at the age of 90 surrounded by her family.

Jean was born on June 10, 1934, in Boston to John C. Rambeau, Sr., and Margaret Davis Rambeau. The family lived in Newton, MA, where Jean attended Newton High School. During her high school years, Jean's bright smile and gregarious personality drew anyone she met to her. Her friends often referred to her as warm, welcoming, funny and pure joy. Her popularity continued well into her college years and beyond. While living in her independent and then assisted living facility, Jean volunteered to be on the welcoming committee to make sure new residents had a friend. She loved her family, life, and the people that surrounded her.

Jean received her undergraduate degree from Boston University where she majored in Education and met her future husband, Dick. During her time at Boston University Jean participated in many social events, was nominated for homecoming queen, and continued to make friends with anyone she met.

Early in her career, Jean taught Elementary School and after raising a family, she became an editor at Allyn & Bacon publishing company in Boston MA. In addition, Jean was an avid learner with a passion for medicine and spent her free time researching health and nutrition, using this knowledge to take care of her loved ones.

Jean lived for many years in Newton, MA, and Walpole, MA, before finally retiring and settling in Tucson, AZ, with her husband, Dick, in 2012.

Jean is survived by her four children: Richard D. Little II of Walpole, MA; Dianne and her husband, Gary Lochhead, of Walpole, MA; Douglas and his wife, Kathy, of Tucson, AZ; and Scott and his wife, Christy, of Southampton, MA. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard (Dick) D. Little, and her brother, John C. Rambeau III.

Jean and Dick have 10 wonderful grandchildren (3 granddaughters, and 7 grandsons). Family was extremely important to Jean and she called to check in with everyone on a consistent basis. Each of her 10 grandchildren had their own special relationship with Jean. True to her nature she made each feel cherished, special and loved.

A private Cremation Ceremony took place in Tucson last week. The Little Family is planning to have a Celebration of Jean's Life in Walpole, MA on Saturday, July 19th and all those who were fortunate enough to have known Jean are cordially invited to attend.

Aunt Jean was always very supportive and loving with our family and we will truly miss her. I told her that she had exceptional children who have all worked so hard in life with great and important jobs and wonderful families that she should be so proud of. Her zest for life, kindness, humor and beauty inside and out were truly amazing! May God bless the family and know we are here for you. Karen and Alan Kornacki

I have the most fond memories of Aunt Jeanie during my visits to Boston and her visits to Houston. Her energy and smile would light up any room. What a gift to be able to visit her at my father's life celebration services. I love you all and hope to join you in July.
