BARBEAU, Jean-Louis (John-L.) On Sunday, February 11, 2007, John-L. Barbeau of Edmonton passed away peacefully at Somerset Extendicare. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his five children, Michael (Linda), Maurice, Carmen (Lyle), Marc (Patricia), and John (Bonnie); and by his five grandchildren, Holly (Rick), Brian, Alexandra, Robert, and Nicole; and by his two great-grandchildren, Mikaela and Emily. He will also be missed by his sister Francoise of California and brother Jacques (Diane), of Montreal, and sister-in-law Bette Gallacher of Edmonton. John will be remembered for his kindness, for his love of food, for his fondness for the family cottage at Alberta Beach, and for his loyalty to his family. Above all, he was a good samaritan. A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Basilica (10044-113 Street), with Reverend Marc Cramer, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
