Jean LaVon Mason, 65, was born on September 28, 1939, to William Floyd and Una Marie Mason in Ft. Scott, KS. She passed away on November 26, 2004, with her son, Troy Mason, and his wife, Rosemary, at her side. Jean grew up in Ft. Scott, KS, where she graduated from Ft. Scott High School in 1958. In 1963, she began a banking career in Kansas City that covered various capacities ranging from entry level bookkeeper to assistant vice president. In 2001, she relocated to Piedmont, OK, to stay with her son, Troy, due to declining health. Jean is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Troy, and his wife, Rosemary, along with six grandchildren, Daniel, Melissa, Rachael, Jacob, Benjamin and Jonathan Mason of Piedmont, OK; twin brother, Jerry Mason of Pittsburg, KS; and sister, Francis Applegate of Rockaway Beach, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, November 29, at 11 a.m., at Harvest Hills Baptist Church, OKC. Interment will be on Tuesday, November 30, at 12 noon, in Evergreen Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS.
