Jean Paul "JP" Richmond (1971-2024)

JP Richmond, 53, of Flagstaff and Mesa, Arizona, passed away on December 27, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by family and close friends.

Born on November 16, 1971, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, JP was the son of Ray Sprague Richmond Sr. and Lynn Courtney Richmond (née Sherman). He grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from El Dorado High School. After attending college, JP discovered his passion as a medical device company representative, a career in which he excelled through his hard work and dedication to helping others.

JP lived in Flagstaff for many years and spent significant time in Phoenix as well. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Sr. and Lynn; his brother, Colin; and his nephew, Joseph ("Buddy"). He is survived by his siblings Scott, Nina, and Ray Jr., as well as his nieces and nephew Alyson, Rozalyn, Abbey, and Aidan.

JP will be remembered for his warm and generous spirit. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people-whether he had known them for decades or just minutes-and was always ready to offer guidance, support, and encouragement. To JP, everyone was family. He loved cooking, watching football, exploring new restaurants, playing dice and cards, watching movies, embarking on adventures, and most of all, spending time with friends. His sense of humor and the countless inside jokes he shared will be cherished by those who knew him.

A gathering in JP's honor will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Backyard Desert Ridge (21001 N. Tatum Blvd., Suite 14, Phoenix, AZ 85054). A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Four Hills Country Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

JP's kindness and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his loss.
