Jean Roberts Obituary
Jean and her husband Joseph Roberts were married 72 years, having wed in 1942. During that time, they spent 30 of those years together living all over the world at the request of the USAF where they enjoyed the ups and downs of military life.
Jean grew up Ft. Bliss in El Paso Texas. A passionate and talented swimmer, Jean held many Texas State swimming records. Texas was not only her childhood home, but when she was 15 years old, she met my dad there. The day my dad graduated from U.S. Army Air Corp, he married my mom.
In the 1960's Jean taught the original 7 astronaut's children how to swim. They advanced so quickly that she choreographed them a swimming performance at Langley AFB with Louis Armstrong.
Quite a life indeed!
