Jean Sohalski Obituary

COAL TOWNSHIP - Jean D. (Dombroski) Sohalski, 96, of 807 West Walnut Street, died peacefully at 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009, at her home.
She was born in Shamokin on September 27, 1912, a daughter of the late Zigmund and Josephine (Walenty) Dombroski.
She was married on June 21, 1933, in St. Stanislaus Church, Shamokin, to Steve Sohalski, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sohalski worked for 20 years for the Child Study Institute.
Jean was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township, and the former St. Stephen Church.
She is survived by her two sons, John Sohalski of Florida and Richard Sohalski of Nevada, and her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene McGraw and Violet Taylor.
At Mrs. Sohalski's request, there will not be a visitation or funeral service.
Burial of her cremains will be private in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Coal Township.
Arrangements were entrusted to James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 West Arch Street at Maple Street, Coal Township, PA.

My sincere sympathy to Jean's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have known Jean for 20+ years and she was a wonderful,kind woman and I considered her a good friend. She will be truly missed.
