Jeanette Masako Watanabe Fujii 98½ passed away peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 13, 2014. A 58-year resident of North Las Vegas, she started work at Sunrise Hospital as a L.P.N. on their opening day in 1958 and retired in 1982 from the South 5 Medical-Surgery Floor. She was born January 31, 1916 in Kohala, HI. Everyone will remember “FUJII” for her kind and warm enduring spirit, love of travel, family, friends and song. She loved to sing “Amazing Grace”, “You Are My Sunshine” and other songs in a heartbeat at family gatherings; Dula’s Round Table, Sierra Hiking Club or at her swimming group at Dula Gym. She inspired, amazed and replenished the souls of all who knew her. A Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and Auntie, she is survived by her two sons Raymond Fujii and Paul Fujii her daughter Jean Daniels (Walt), 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, loving sister of Shizue Ishihara, Kazue Granich and Ethel Lam and several nephews and nieces. She was loved and revered as the matriarch of this family. Celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. In Lieu of flowers please donate to Southern Nevada Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary or your favorite charity.
