Margaret Jean "Jeanie" Burnett, 60, of McAlester, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at her home.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brumley-Mills Chapel with Dr. James B. Crowson officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.Born Apr. 28, 1949, in McAlester, she was the daughter of John H. and Catherine (DeJacimo) Watson. She grew up in Krebs, attending school there through the eighth grade. She then attended McAlester schools, graduating from McAlester High School in 1968.She married Larry Burnett on Oct. 26, 1968, in McAlester. She had worked at WalMart for more than 25 years, most recently in jewelry sales.She enjoyed shopping, traveling and listening to music, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.Survivors include her husband, Larry Burnett, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Deidra Dione Shuman and Daniel Diaz, of McAlester; one son, Lance Charles Burnett, of McAlester.Also, five grandchildren, Dereck, Dray, Dane, Darcey and Valraider; one brother, John David Watson, of Eufaula, and mother-in-law, Clara Burnett, of McAlester.She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joyce Kathleen Burke; her father-in-law, Charles Burnett, and a sister-in-law, Elaine Regan.Pallbearers will be Dray Murdaugh, Dane Burnett, Clint Wadley, Nick Upton, Tim Mangrum, Derrick Goodson and Loyd Wadley.Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Reagan and David Wadley.

Margaret Jean I knew her as. She was a childhood friend of mine & my heart goes out to her family. Her Dad, Joker was good to all us kids at the station/bus stop. I remember her Mom, always in her apron at the front door.
