Jeanne Nelson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 6 to Nov. 7, 2008.
Jeanne Marie NELSON Jeanne Nelson, 52, passed away October 30, 2008. She was at her home in Everett, WA. She was born February 17, 1956 in Richland, WA to Wendell D. and Donnette S. Nelson. Jeanne grew up in Kennewick and graduated from Kamiakin High School in 1974. After graduation, Jeanne took employment with DOE and worked for them until she took early retirement in 2003. While working for DOE, she lived in Washington D.C. for 3 years. She moved to Everett in 2006 where she and her sister, Janet, enjoyed the culturally diverse entertainment the Seattle area offered. Jeanne was a member of the Army Reserves for 18 years. Jeanne's passion was hockey, and pity the poor person who would call or visit during a televised game! She would go to live games whenever she could. This passion also led her to become a Tri City American booster for several years. Jeanne is survived by Janet, her brother Bob, her nieces and nephews, Steven, Lisa, Mark, and Donna. Other survivors are her cats, Miss Priss and Tony. A memorial service will be held at the Woodlands Clubhouse, 12712 Admiralty Way, Everett on November 7 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to the American Cancer Association or the Arthritis Foundation.

Sorry to hear if Jeanne's passing in Everett. I had no idea she had moved nor that she was so ill. I knew her from DOE days. A top notch team player. I am glad she was able to enjoy time and culture in the Seattle/Everett area. I am sure her sis was an excellent caregiver. God Bless the family!

I worked with Jeanne years ago when we were both budget analysts in Richland. I still work in budget and we were so sad and shocked to hear the news yesterday.

I am saddened to here of Jeanne's passing. I enjoyed several years working with her doing oversight of BHI, and I always appreciated her smile and spirit of determination, even when things were tough, both at work and physically for her.

To the familly of Jeanne Nelson,

I'm so sorry to hear of Jeanne's passing. I worked with Jeanne in Richland in the Environmental Restoration group where Jeanne was assigned to us from the DOE budget division. She was a friend and a great asset to us. God Bless you during this most difficult time.

I worked with Jeanne in the old BHI Building. We built a warm relationship and tried to keep in touch with each other after she left our organization. I have always lit candles for her throughout the years. Another angel went to heaven.
