Ronald William Smith

SMITH Ronald WilliamOctober 27th, 1941- March 18th, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ron at RIH. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC and moved to Kamloops in 2004. He was a very outgoing, friendly and funny guy who always had a story to tell. He made many friends along the way. He retired from Shell Canada and became a private detective (a job that gave him even more stories to tell). His true passions in life were softball, umpiring, curling, shuffleboard and slot machines. He also enjoyed his model trains and belonged to the Heritage Model Railway Club. Ron was predeceased by his Mother and Father. He will always be remembered by his loving best friend and partner Sue (Sandra), his daughters Janice and Barb. Grandchildren, Tyson, Jordan, Courtney and Amanda. Brother Dennis and stepson Michael (Mari) and his son Mikaere in N.Z. Ron had many friends who will miss him dearly. He truly was one of a kind. The family would like to thank Dr. Michaud and the staff at RIH for their support. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
