Jeff Hammond Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2021.

Jeff Donald Hammond passed away in Cypress, Texas, on February 12, 2021. Born on
April 22, 1955 in Buffalo, New York, Jeff was the first born child of Donald Harvey and Beverly
Faye Michel Hammond. Jeff graduated from Holland High School in 1973, where he sang "The
Lord's Prayer" as part of his graduation ceremony. He then served in the Denmark Copenhagen
Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) from June 1974 to June 1976.
In 1978, he moved to Houston where he worked in the automatic door industry for over forty
years.
Jeff married Denise Annette Brown on June 12, 1980 in the LDS Washington, D.C.
Temple. Together, Jeff and Denise have three children, each of whom continue his legacy of
faith, optimism, music, and service. He served faithfully in the LDS Church for over fifty years,
teaching Sunday school, fulfilling leadership positions, and sharing his amazing vocal talents
whenever asked.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother, and son-in-law, Jeff leaves his wife, Denise,
daughters Deirdre (Sean) Chisholm and Megan (Eric) Falconer, and son, Kyle, along with nine
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five siblings, and numerous nieces, nephews, and
friends.
Dad’s humility and wisdom, as well as his example of faithfulness and obedience to the
Lord, diligence in serving others, and cheerful attitude while facing adversity will be missed by
all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Just learned of my cousins son Jeffery's passing. We were close in age and I remember when we left our home in Buffalo NY to go to California that we were not going to see each other for a while. As life moves forward we never saw each other again. I've never met Jeff's family. I pray that they stay close and cherish the memories of their father.

Mr. HAMMOND came and spoke/preached at the church I was at in 1989- in Deer Park Texas. I have never forgoten him and his wonderful message. I have prayed for him since that day. I just thought to Google his name. God bless and comfort all his family and may they all know how much he touched lives for Christ.

Jeff was the kindest soul. He would always take the time to help me and teach me the door business. He was a wealth of knowledge to say the least. I can remember Jeff whistling at his desk or singing while he worked. He will be dearly missed. My prayers go out to his family!

Jeff had a talent for understanding automatic doors. He was never too busy to answer questions from those of us who were just learning, and seemed to embrace the challenge of finding solutions to complex configurations. We lost a Guru. Sending my thoughts of sympathy to the Hammond family.

I am blessed to of worked with Jeff and will always remember him and the great contributions, sacrifices and mentoring he provide to many in our organization. He was always happy to help and teach others. His immense knowledge, experience and personality will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. My condolences and deepest sympathy to the family at this time of great loss. May all the good times and love you shared with one another help you thru this difficult moment. Take refuge knowing that he is now with the Lord now and will be watching over you with his sprit .

Jeff Hammond was unlike most people that I have worked with in my construction career. He was my inside sales person for roughly 10 years at ASSA ABLOY. The strange thing is I never actually met him in person. Everything was done over the computer/phone. His knowledge in our industry was off the charts. He was probably the nicest and most sincere person that I have ever worked with. He was not your usual construction guy at all.

I missed Jeff when he left due to illness and now I miss him even more.

To the Hammond family....I feel like I know you all. Jeff and I shared home stories frequently. I feel your pain. He was like an older brother/mentor for a lot of guys at our company including me.

I know he is finally at peace. I hope you are too....

Jeff will be dearly missed by all of us at ASSA ABLOY. He was a wealth of knowledge for me and I love his laugh and wiliness to always lend a hand when I needed help. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family during this difficult time. I'll always remember him as a man with a heart of gold and a can do sprit.

We are saddened to learn of Jeff’s passing. A grand and beautiful voice is stilled in mortality but now joins a Heavenly choir to sing praises to our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. I will always have fond memories of him and Penny singing “O Holy Night” together on several occasions. Each one was more compelling than the last. Our thoughts and prayers for comfort go out to Denise and the family.
