Jeff Long Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 10, 2014.

Las Vegas sadly bids farewell to Jeff Arnold Long, longtime resident and businessman, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly March 9, 2014, at the age of 60. Jeff spent his early years in Santa Barbara, Calif., and attended the University of California in Sacramento. As a young man filled with big dreams, he moved to Las Vegas and built up many successful businesses in the states of Nevada and Arizona. Jeff was well- known and highly-respected in the construction and automotive restoration businesses in Las Vegas. Among his business ventures are Central Valley Insulation, Mutt 'N Jeff's Classics, Flamingo Construction, Nevada Gypsum Floors, Central Valley Specialties and Specialty Coatings. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Goldie Long of Redding, Calif. He is survived by Michael Doiron, whom he had shared his love and life with since 1987; his son, Kenneth; beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth; brother, Harry; and sister, Susan. Kenneth was Jeff's business partner in Mutt 'N Jeff's Classics and his closest friend. Harry was Jeff's right-hand-man and ran Central Valley Insulation for many years. Family had first priority with Jeff. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his spirit of generosity, kindness, and gentleness, but he was also known for his toughness in his business operations. Jeff's family wishes to thank God for the years we had him with us. We look forward to seeing him again in heaven. Viewing will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 14. Viewing again 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, with services following, all at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Hot Rod attire encouraged. There will be a celebration of life following at Mr. D's Sportsbar & Grill, 1810 S. Rainbow Blvd. Per family's wishes no flowers nor donations. - See more at: http://obits.reviewjournal.com/obituaries/lvrj/obituary.aspx?n=jeff-long&pid=170147287&fhid=12177#sthash.Kc9aA8XZ.dpuf

Jeff was a man of memories... he made sure that everyone around him was making good ones and that he did his best to restore the old one's. In the same way he restored those cars to preserve them to share with future generations, we can all now preserve his memory by passing on ours. We are all better people because he was a part of our lives.

Jeff my dad is going to be lost without those phone calls poking fun at him and your yearly vacation to some off the wall place! You were always around when I was little and will be dearly missed by our family. Time may lessen the pain for my dad but he will never forget the great times you all shared! Condolences to your family as I am sure they are feeling an overwhelming loss.??

Jeffery was my brother-in-law and always called me "precious". I know he watched over and loved my sister very much. He has been a member of our family for so long I don't remember a time when he wasn't. I will miss him and I know he will watch over my sister Michael. Love Renee "Precious"
