When my family lived in Birmingham, I'd always tune in to KZ106 on my way down from East Tennessee. A really good station and Jeff was a really good jock. All of us here at WIVK in Knoxville are saddened to hear of his loss. Our best to those he left behind.

For the times when you, Burce and I would sing around the piano, whatever gospel song we all knew the words to on many late evenings, for the chats and laughs, for the weekend movies, and for being you...I am forever grateful!! and when we see each other again...we can sing "Looking for a city..." Rest in peace...

Jeff was a true friend over the years. We lost touch when i moved to Atlanta but will never forget the wonderful times we had making recordings at NC Church and traveling with Solid Rock. Jeff will be gladly missed. We talk a few weeks back and was planning on getting together for lunch soon which never did happen. God Bless the Family.

Jeff with Solid Rock 1973

Jeff and I had just recently reconnected on Facebook. I had the privledge of being with Jeff in Solid Rock at North Cleveland Church of God. Jeff played drums and I played bass. Jeff had an awsome sense of timing and was a Rock Solid drummer. Together we made some great music. Even today when I listen to the recording of "You don't know what your missing" I hear he solid on time beat. It's like we were just there in the recording studio laying it down. We were making plans to get together the next time I was in Tennessee. I think right now Jeff is sitting on the throne, The Drummers Throne, playing his drums for his God! Rest in Peace Jeff.

I will always remember & cherish the memories of Jeff in the 70's being my best & favorite drummer in the Solid Rock singers. As director of the choir, I appreciated his spiritual affinity & sense of humor. He was so enthused & intense in our performances, that he would on occasion, stand up from his drum seat & raise his hands in victorious shouting of joy while the choir continued. Jeff's talents inspired & enriched my life. In loving memory, Joe Paul Pass, Minister of Music, Christian Life Church, Baltimore, MD

I am saddened to hear of Jeff's homegoing. We were friends at Lee University and were members of Solid Rock choir at North Cleveland Church of God; Jeff was the drummer. I'll always remember his sweet spirit. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will comfort his loved ones. Wanda Pressley Dent

Sharon and I remember well meeting Jeff and Tamela when we first came to Abba's House, then Central Baptist. They would sit in the pew just in front of us there in the old sanctuary and there was always a conversation going on. What a great man of compassion and love. We will miss him greatly, but are so thankful for having met him. Looking forward to that day when we'll see you again brother!! Brett & Sharon McCreary

Coop! We've been through too much together! We've done it all. And, yet at the same time, we knew the ultimate goal. To make heaven our home. I'm sorry that I embarrased you while you were playing "I'll Fly Away" on the piano. I knew that once it was over, you'd say "don't ever make me do that again!" Well, you've said that for almost 30 years. You always made my family smile...and, by the way, they liked your piano playing! Anyway...I dont think that you will be upset that I won't attend your funeral service. You always told me that you didn't want anything like that...just put me in a pine box and bury me. Sorry! Those pine boxes cost at lot of money and I can't afford you and my kids!!!!
Coop. Im trying to cover my tears. I'm so glad we talked on Thursday night. I'm so glad that we talked almost every day...sometimes three or four times!!! I'm so glad that Tamela had you for these few years. She really doesn't know what a jewel she has!
Thanks Cooper for being my best friend for almost 30 years. We've been through a lot. Some fun....some sad...but overall, it didn't matter. You were the one I could count on. I miss you , Coop. REST IN PEACE!

OH I'm gonna miss him, (tears) I can hear his voice. I remember when we all had the flu together...what a "lot" we were, how he loved to cook & try his new recipes on us & show us out of the way places to eat that he knew of.
I think he knew every song & movie ever produced...he & Dave were & are our "go to" guys when trying to remember....What a gentleman he was even though we loved to agravate eachother.
HE WAS THE SPIRITUAL GLUE & MOTIVATION IN A LOT OF FOLK'S LIVES!!! & HOW HE LOVED & CARED FOR TAMALA.
Most fondly.... those legs in his "never to give up" beloved shorts.
LOVE TO YOU Tamala & blessings for a future & hope,
Marty McCallie

My fondest memory of Jeff is what we at Abba's House called "the voice". He did an outstanding job in narrating roles in programs that required that special someone with a special voice. Thank you Jeff. Tamela, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family. You too are a very special woman of God.
