Jeff Bishop during Thanksgiving.
Mark Bishop
February 25, 2017
My dear brother Jeff Bishop is now sleeping waiting for that glorious resurrection morning when Jesus returns to take us home. I cherished my brother Jeff. I was the eldest and Jeff was a little over a year younger than me. We spent a lifetime together and he was always there for me and my family. I miss him so deeply.
Jeff asked not for an obituary, so I was surprised to see this mention of him online. Let me briefly talk about my loving brother. Jeff passed away right after Christmas, 2016. He died while living in Big River, CA. At the time of his death, he was not married nor had any children. My son, Matthew Bishop, was his closest nephew. Jeff is survived by his younger brother, Scott K. Bishop, and his sister, Melissa L. Brogdon. Jeff spent working many years at ARCO in Torrance, CA and lived in Lakewood, CA, later retiring to Big River, CA.
Jeff was a kind, quiet and loving man. He cherished his dogs and he loved life. Jeff was always an outdoor person often found hiking in Yosemite in his younger days, and racing everything including riding his quads in the desert. Jeff was a wonderful neighbor and helpful towards his family. During my time as a missionary in the Philippines, Jeff sent me a few donations to help me.
My brother died at an early age. He wasn't even 59. The world was a nicer and better place with Jeff in it. I'm so grateful for all the time that he and I spent in our walks together, eating out, and just hanging out. I shall never forget him or his love. I so look forward to seeing him again in heaven. I love you, dear brother.
