Jeffrey Buchanan

Jeffrey Buchanan, of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on January 24, 1964, in Allen Park, Michigan, Jeffrey dedicated his life to service, faith, and family.

Jeff's professional life was marked by an unwavering commitment to helping others. He served as a firefighter with the Scio Fire Department for 25 years, bravely protecting his community and earning the respect of colleagues and neighbors alike. In addition to his firefighting career, he worked for over 30 years as a dispatcher with Huron Valley Ambulance. As a certified paramedic, Jeff brought calm and care to countless emergencies throughout his decades of service. Jeff was a hero to so many, and his example inspired his children to pursue careers in emergency services and medicine.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeff was deeply rooted in his faith. He was very active in his church community and led two Bible study groups. His passion for sharing God's word inspired him to return to college later in life to study Theology-a testament to his lifelong dedication to spiritual growth and teaching.

Jeff found joy in life's simple pleasures and cherished time spent with loved ones. He was an avid fan of both the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. Whether watching a Tigers game with friends or cheering on the Lions alongside his beloved wife Becki, sports were a source of connection and celebration. His garage became a home away from home for many and was always filled with laughter, camaraderie and fellowship.

He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, birding, and spending time outdoors. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with his family and friends in meaningful ways.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife Becki Buchanan; son Taylor Buchanan and daughter-in-law Mallory Buchanan; daughter Amber Buchanan; granddaughters Grace Buchanan and Chloe Buchanan; brother Andrew Buchanan and sister-in-law Rachel Johnston; mother Carol Sickles; and stepfather Omar Sickles. He was preceded in death by his father Cliff Buchanan.

Jeff's legacy is one of service, faith, friendship, and adventure. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM at 2
