It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden death last weekend of Jeff, 54. Beloved son of Frances (nee McGarvey) and the late Leonard Copeland. Cherished brother of Maureen (John Gross), Debbie (the late David Gifford), Gael Pavia, Cathy (Steven Dehler) Mark, David (Connie Raspa), Rosemary (Ralph Jones), Janet Fahey and Stephanie (Tom Dinan). Good old Uncle Jeff will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his co- workers at the Days Inn Downtown. Those who knew and loved this master raconteur will miss his endlessly entertaining tales. Mommy will also miss his help with her crossword puzzles. Friends may pay respects to the family at The Whelan Funeral Home on Monday, July 16 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A mass of Christian Funeral will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church (194 Fourth Ave.), on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment at the Notre Dame cemetery in the family plot. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Whelan Funeral Home, tel. 613.233-1488.

Good Ol' Uncle Jeff....I sure miss our frequent conversations as you leave for work. I know that you are entertaining Coady, Uncle David and David M. Miss each of you so much but I know you all are having "some good" time.

I have been travelling once a month to Ottawa since 2005 and have always stayed at the Days Inn. Jeffery always remembered my name and was always very accomodating, I just found out yesterday of his passing (as I was checking in). Although I did not know him well, he was always a stand up guy, I will miss his stories. Thanks for always making me feel welcome....RIP my friend....
