Jeffrey Leon Field

Jeffrey Leon Field, 52, of Windham Township, Pennsylvania, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, Sept. 16, 2017, at his home, following declining health.
Jeff was born on Aug. 20, 1965, in Towanda, the son of Leon E. Field and Marcia Root Field. He was a graduate of Towanda Area High School Class of 1983.
Jeff began his career with the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission in Towanda when he was 18 years old and continued there until the time of his passing. He was a member of the Herrickville Wesleyan Church. Jeff was a devoted NASCAR and DIRT modified racing fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially playing cards, working with his hands, woodworking, working puzzles and he loved bowling. He was always eager to accept a challenge and strived to do his very best.
Jeff's life touched the hearts and lives of many and he will be deeply missed.
His family includes his wife, Theresa Rice Field; his mother, Marcia Root Field of Towanda; sister, Kathryn G. Field of Towanda; brother, Randy L. Field of Towanda; daughters, Carey Nadal and husband Luis of Swansboro, North Carolina, Kim Brown and husband Shane of Rome; grandchildren, Alexis Kenney, Madison Brown, Aranza Nadal, and Adrian Nadal; aunts, Lillian Rockefeller of Endwell, New York, Donna Field of Owego, New York; uncle, Quinn (Donna) Root of Summerfield, Florida; mother-in-law, Marjorie Rice of Orwell Hill; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marie Chubbuck of Montrose, John and Linda Rice of Avon, New York, Marian and Bill Cherry of Johnson City, New York, Marlene and Robert Hammerly of Sayre, Cindy and Greg VanDunk of Wyalusing, Becky Wood of Fresno, California, Christine and B.J. Jones of Beech Island, South Carolina; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael Rice of Orwell Hill, Lee and Sonya Rice of Bogart, Georgia; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and his canine companion Holly.
He was predeceased by his father, Leon E. Field on May 13, 2011; maternal grandparents, Levern and Grace Root; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Helen Field; cousin, Debbie Rogers; his father-in-law and card playing partner, Leland E. Rice; and brothers-in-law, Stanley E. Rice, Lloyd Rice, Wendell "Dutch" Noble and Michael "Woody" Wood.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, PA 18848. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at the funeral home, with Pastor Jason Laudermilch of the Herrickville Wesleyan Church officiating.  Burial will follow in the Orwell Hill Cemetery, Orwell Township. The family suggests that contributions may be directed to the Herrickville Wesleyan Church, 127 Lent Road, Wyalusing, PA 18853, in Jeff's memory.
