Jeffrey Horton Obituary
Born and raised in Raleigh, Jeff was a free spirit whose love for music defined his life. From the time he was four years old, he displayed an extraordinary musical talent, playing the piano with a natural ease. By the age of six, he had already mastered the guitar, setting the stage for a lifelong passion that would bring joy to countless people. Determined to live out his dreams as a musician, Jeff shared his gift with everyone he met. His music was more than just sound-it was an extension of his soul, a way to connect with others and spread happiness.
Jeff's presence was unforgettable. He had a contagious smile and a kind heart that left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His passion for music was undeniable, and he found inspiration in his favorite band, Van Halen, and his idol, Eddie Van Halen. Whether performing or simply sharing stories about music, Jeff had a way of bringing people together through his art.
He is survived by his brother, David Wayne Horton, and his nephew, Ryan Matthew Horton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Charles Horton and Julia Ann Belcher Horton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 13, 2025, at City of Oaks Cremation Chapel, located at 4900 Green Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616. Friends and family will gather from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM to honor Jeff's memory by sharing stories and celebrating the life he lived so passionately.
On February 1st, the angels in heaven all sang Jeffrey Scott Horton gained his wings .

I am so sorry to hear about Jeff´s passing. He shared his health issues with me quite some time ago. He was a free spirit and an artist and he will be greatly missed.

Dear David, this is Karen Thornton, from Enloe. I had many classes with Jeff. I've known him since 6th grade. I've spoken with him many times in the past few years. I felt so bad for him, OMG.... I've actually helped him out several times. Anyway,,, I just saw this online. Its 2pm, no way I can get there in time. On on back side of Zebulon and Pilot. Plus I have the flu !!Please Please speak to him for me!! I'm so sad. I know in my heart that he now has no pain. God bless you!!! I hate posting my number, but I trust you.... Jeff's passion for music was always an inspiration to me growing up. I was fortunate enough to share my cousin's gift, though no where near his degree. I remember when I learned my first song on the guitar. My dad sat there and said, "Keep it up, you'll be just like Jeff."

Jeff could play guitar-he was a master when we were 12 years old. Had to be a prodigy. Mr Freddie bought David and Jeff motorcycles and I rode Jeff´s because he´d rather play music. I play guitar a little now-my brother in law, Jeff Abie taught me, and I told him all about Jeff Horton over and over because he made such an impression on me. Rest in Peace, Jeff. You did it, Man.
