I am very sorry for you loss... unfortunately I know what your family is going through. My brother Richie graduated high school with Jeff and also passed away in July.

It seems so unfair that our families and our community need to suffer such a great loss... my only hope is that they are at peace watching over us.

Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Jeff for the first time threw Sean Gilfillan at NU for a military ball back in '99. He was so easy to get along with and had such a vivacious personality. I remember him dancing on top of the tables and speakers during the ball and knew instantly that we would be friends. I admired his love for life and his loyalty to his friends. My deepest condolences to all.

"I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave when life is done"

Jeff was such a deep, loyal, and compassionate person. I loved being around him because he always made light of every situation and put a smile on everyone's face. I will miss him forever and his smile will always be in my memories for the rest of my life. Words can not express my sadness for you and your family. My thoughts are with all of you. I am disappointed that I will not be able to make it to see him one last time for I am in Germany training for our next deployment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing Jeff into this world and raising him to be such an awesome friend.
