Jeffrey Rockwell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 17, 2014.
Jeffrey Clayton Rockwell, 31, of South Charleston, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, September 17th. Born in South Charleston on March 31, 1983, he was a graduate of South Charleston High School and Marshall University, where he was nearing completion on a Master's Degree in History. Jeff's creative interests led him to enviable jobs such as traveling with and catering for the Vans Warped Tour during the summers. After living and working in Chicago for several years, he returned to South Charleston where he actively engaged in e-commerce, his eager mind embracing fast-paced technology. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. His family and friends remember Jeff as a loving son; a giving, caring friend, and an immensely creative individual blessed with a delightfully droll wit. His talents spanned many media: art, music and cooking. His enterprising nature manifested as a youth. Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Dorothy Dawson of Charleston, WV and paternal grandparents, Hugh and Mary Rockwell of Berkeley Springs, WV. He is survived by his loving parents, Hugh and Joyce Rockwell of South Charleston, one brother, Patrick (Kelly) of Marietta, Georgia and special nephew, Nolan Rockwell of Marietta Georgia. Also surviving, aunt Rebecca Wallace of Elkins, uncle and aunt Joe and Sarah Dawson of Borrego Springs, CA, and cousins, Chaffee, Liberty and John Wallace. Also surviving are special friends Joey Hunter, Holly Greathouse, and his beloved Corgi, Sam. A service will be held in the Columbarium at St. John's Episcopal Church in Charleston on Sunday, at 2:00 p.m. with the Very Rev. Kent Higgins. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to NAMI.org or Manna Meal. Memories of Jeffrey may be shared by going to www.snodgrassfuneral.com and selecting the obituary.
