Funeral services for Jeffrey D. Tonne, 78, of Fairmont, MN, will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont.  Burial will be following the service in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fairmont.  Jeff passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his home in Fairmont.  The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

            Jeffrey D. Tonne was born on August 19, 1943, in Perham, MN, the son of Otto and Nora (Steuber) Tonne.  Jeffrey was baptized and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith and moved with his family as a young boy to the Granada area where he grew up on a farm.  He received his education attending school in Granada and graduated from Granada High School.

            Following his graduation, Jeff worked for Northland Distributing where he drove the 7-up truck for 20 years.

            On February 2, 1963, Jeff was united in marriage to Arlene Campbell.  Together the couple made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with over 58 years of marriage.

            While in his 40’s, Jeff decided to further his education and enrolled at Jackson VoTech in Jackson, MN, where he graduated with honors and a degree in the Electrician program.  For the next 25 years, Jeff worked as a licensed electrician and was a proud member of the Electrician Union.

            In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed the crisp cool air of fall and the thrill of the hunt for the next large buck.  He also enjoyed long days on the lake fishing from his boat or just out for a leisurely cruise.  Jeff looked forward to meeting the coffee group at McDonald’s and catching up on the news for the day.

            Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Arlene Tonne of Fairmont, MN; sisters-in-law, Sharon (Mark) Ikten, and Carol (Steven) Hatch; special cousin, Mike (Becky) Tonne; as well as many other extended family and friends.

            Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Nora Tonne; brother, Jerome Tonne; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Doreen Campbell.
