Jeffrey Whitacre

David Jeffrey Whitacre, 70, passed away Monday, April 7th. He was born July 25, 1954, in Fort Lee, Virginia.

Jeff was born to parents David and Nancy, and the oldest of four. He grew up in a close-knit community where he enjoyed many sports, but most of all football, auto racing, boating, and motorcycles. He also loved music, was an avid reader, and loved to travel.

Jeff attended Ridgeview High School in the late 1960s, where he met lifelong best friends and future business partners Terry James and David Sunderland. They shared their common interests together in boating at Lake Lanier, motorcycle riding throughout the mountains and across the country, skiing throughout the Rocky Mountains, golfing in big groups, and traveling on beach vacations. Jeff attended Young Harris, where he met many more lifelong friends.

After he left Young Harris, Jeff went to work in his father's family business, Whitacre Southern (which became Whitacre Sunbelt), selling printing presses, where he was well known in the printing industry. Years later, Dave and Terry were in business together and Jeff entered into a partnership with them selling and refurbishing printing presses, where he worked for the rest of his career.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 34 years, Donna, sons Matt (Sarah), Justin, Todd (Julia), and Jonathon, his grandchildren Rosalie, Faelan, Caleigh, Benjamin, Benton, Ford, and Theodora, as well as his siblings Kathy, Greg (Trish), and Doug (Connie).

A celebration of life will be held at Jeff's favorite place to gather to watch football and golf, Terry's warehouse, on August 2, 2025 at 1PM at 2195 Pendley Rd, Cumming, GA 30041.
