Jennifer Klitzke Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 22, 2025.
Jennifer Kay Bruce Klitzke (62) passed away peacefully in her home with the love of her life by her side, on the morning of March 13, 2025. Jenny lived her life to the fullest while battling cancer for 5 years. She was the most loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandma, aunt, and friend. The world was a far better place with her in it.

Jenny was born on June 4, 1962, to Leycester and Georgina Bruce. She was the youngest of three girls and cherished as the baby of the family, especially by her oldest sister, Patricia. Jenny graduated from Eisenhower High School in Hopkins, MN, in 1980.

In 1982, at the age of 19, Jenny gave birth to her first child, Sarah. This began the most important and coveted role that Jenny held, being a mom. She became the greatest love and best friend for her daughter.

In the late 1980's, Jenny met the man that she would marry, David Klitzke. Dave brought a different kind of light to Jenny's life. A light that would only get brighter as the years passed. On September, 15, 1990, Jenny married her Dave. Many family and friends, old and new, gathered to celebrate their love. Soon after on November 3, 1991, Jenny gave birth to her second child, Daniel. Danny brought tons of laughter and joy as the first boy of the family. May 6, 1993, Jenny and Dave welcomed the baby of the family, Thomas. Tommy sent a spark of fun energy through the family, which has never stopped. Together, Dan and Tommy kept Jenny young with all of their crazy antics. Jenny always cherished adventures and created new experiences with her family. There were family trips to Disney World, Wisconsin Dells, camping, Las Vegas, and so many more.

As a mom, Jenny was there for her children, through every event. She dried tears, used her never-ending positivity to show them the good in the world, and never missed a chance to teach them that its ok to laugh at yourself along the way. Her love was all encompassing for her children.

In 2018, Jenny and Dave decided to make the biggest move of their life. They joined their best friends Patti and Gary to move to Boise, Idaho. The adventures would be magnificent! Though it was hard for those that stayed behind in Minnesota, she said, "the world is smaller than you think." She was right. She always enjoyed talking on the phone, welcoming everyone that wanted to visit, and there was never a lack of pictures. As they got comfortable in their new state, it was evident that it was the most perfect decision for them. Jenny loved Idaho and all it had to offer. She never stopped talking about its beauty. There was no brighter sparkle in her eyes than when she found her place in the world, alongside her husband.

Jenny lived for happiness. She wanted to experience everything. And she did! From selling Lularoe, to learning how to ride a motorcycle, much to her daughter's fears. She took vacations whenever she could. Her favorite trips were taking cruises with friends and family and trips to Las Vegas (there are no casinos in Idaho). Jenny adored the fun nights in downtown Boise. She and Dave met so many new friends in Idaho that love them like family. They added a side by side to their collection of toys and joined their new found family to ride through the buttes and hills of Idaho.

Jenny was also an amazing Grandma, who would have roped the moon for her three grandchildren. Isabel (21) and Alex (17) were born to Sarah. Gabe (2) is the son of Dan and his wife, Sarah. Even with the distance, each grandchild knew and felt her love and support. There was no better feeling than a hug from Grandma.

There are two girls that will be missing their mom, without a way to explain her absence. Her beloved American Bulldogs, Molly and Maize. They love their mom almost as much as they were loved by her.

Jenny worked at Musicland, Supervalu, Target, and finally Albertson's when she and Dave moved to Boise, ID. Her main career focus was programming and computer technology. A great portion of her career was at Supervalu, where she met many friends and touched so many lives. Jenny was looking forward to her retirement from Albertson's, a company that she was proud to be a part of. Wherever Jenny was working, she created lasting and meaningful relationships.

Jenny is survived by her husband, David Klitzke. Her daughter, Sarah (Rich), sons, Dan (Sarah), and Tommy. Her grandchildren, Isabel and Alex (Sarah), Gabe and soon-to-be grandson (Dan). Her sister, Patricia Amy (Erwin). And so many family members and friends that adored her beyond words. Jenny is preceded in death by her father, Leycester and mother, Georgina Bruce. Her sister, Susan Vonhoff. Her father-in-law, Loren Klitzke. Her nephew, Trevor Farnsworth. And other people who have loved and been loved by Jenny. Oh, the reunion!!

Sorry for your loss. Dave and Jenny came out to visit me and Mike years ago when we lived in Everett, WA. I will always remember the fun times we had.

Jenny and I were sidekicks, living next door to each other, born 1 day apart. Many hours at our respective houses playing endless games, including the Mod Squad game with the boys that lived on the street. She was always happy, positive and uplifting. I will miss her spirit.

I first met Jenny in 1985 at my Mother-in-law Barb Gohmans´ house. She had her daughter Sarah with her and they were both so loved by Barb. I soon was introduced to the entire Bruce family and adored Tom´s aunt and uncle Georgie and Lee Bruce, and "the girls" Pat, Susan and Jenny. Over the years I got to know and love Jenny. She always wore that wonderful smile on her face and made me feel welcome at all Gohman-Bruce events. As our kids grew and family life kept us busy we kept in touch via FB and holiday cards. Heaven is a better place with Jenny. My heart goes out to you Sarah. I loved the poem you posted on FB. Yes Jenny was a strong and beautiful ship that has sailed to a new port but she will be with you forever. Pat I have 2 sisters as well and I can feel your pain. You were the best sister ever to Jenny and she will always be there for you too. Sharon Gohman

Jenny was always so kind. We would laugh at "daf" jokes at work. She is sorely missed!

My boys grew up with Danny and Tommy. Many good memories. Her children and grandchildren are very lucky to have had her in their life. She was always very kind and calming.

I graduated HS with Jenny. We had limited interaction, but I vividly remember her as quiet, kind and always smiling. I was happy to see her at a class gathering in 2022; I spoke with her and Dave, and she was as kind as I had remembered. What a legacy of love she left behind for herself and her family. My deepest condolences for your tremendous loss. You all will be in my prayers.
