Jen was a part of my childhood which was happy and carefree. She was sweet, kind, fun to be with and beautiful inside and out. A few weeks ago I started thinking about my younger life and the people who were a part of it. Jen was one of those people and when news came to me of her death it felt especially shocking and sad. I want to share some experiences with you in the hope that it can possibly provide comfort and support to you in the upcoming year. In 1983 both of my parents perished in a fire, but even with the initial raw grief from shock and loss I could feel their presence. Many years have gone by and there are still times when I am totally focused on a task and suddenly I feel them, hear their voice or laughter or one of their favorite songs in my head and sometimes there is even a familiar scent. I refer to such times as a visitation. My older sister Maria died eight years ago and although she is not here physically her presence is often felt by me and other family members as well - we believe she is a guardian. These visitations have caused me to do a lot of thinking about life, death, ancestors, DNA and cellular memory. Also, there's an inner voice that reminds me when a loved one dies that spirit never dies. Please know that I am so sorry for your physical loss of Jen. My hope is that you will be comforted by her spirit and that your heart will feel throughout your life.
