Jerald "Jerry" Wayne Parkison

November 28, 1941 – May 27, 2024

Jerald Wayne Parkison, 82, of Renton, Washington, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024.

Jerry was born on November 28, 1941, in Spokane, Washington, to Margaret Louisa Parkison and Wayne Morse Parkison. He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1959 and enlisted in the Air Force National Guard that December, beginning a life marked by service, dedication, and hard work.

After high school, Jerry spent two years helping on the family farm and working at a local tire shop. In December 1961, he began his impressive 46-year career in the aerospace industry at Boeing, where he worked as a machinist. During his time at Boeing, Jerry contributed to the construction of airplane and missile parts, as well as components for the Lunar Rover, which remains on the surface of the moon as part of human history.

In 1964, Jerry married Kathryn E. Armstrong, later welcoming twins; Tina and Richard, in April 1968. Jerry's family was his greatest pride, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with a strong foundation.

In December 1965, Jerry was honorably discharged from the Air Force National Guard with the rank of Airman Second Class and a National Guard Service Ribbon.

After retiring from Boeing in March 2008, Jerry embraced his hobbies and passions. He spent countless hours meticulously crafting N gauge model trains, riding his motorcycle, and enjoying other activities that brought him joy. He also made sure to spend quality time with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and love.

Jerry was a long-time member of Delphia Lodge #2 Knights of Pythias, joining January 1st 1966. Jerry was a Past Chancellor Commander (president) and during his tenure brought in many guest speakers, such as fire marshals to talk about fire safety. Jerry saw the lodge through dwindling membership down to 3, then 2, before participating in its revival to 20 members today.

Jerry is survived by his two children, Tina, and Richard, three grandchildren, and four siblings. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted and hardworking man who valued family, community, and lifelong learning.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on February 1, 2025, at Myrtle Lodge Hall, 57 W Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA 98027, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Maple Valley Community Center or the Knights of Pythias, organizations that Jerry held close to his heart.

Jerry's legacy of love, innovation, and dedication will live on through all who knew and cherished him.
