Jeremy Craig "McGoo" McGhee, age 48, passed away on April 14, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on December 18, 1976, in Tennessee, Jeremy lived a life marked by dedication to his craft, unwavering faith, and a deep love for his family and community.

A proud tradesman, Jeremy pursued excellence in his early twenties. He completed a four-year trade degree in Sheet Metal, earning the Apprentice of the Year distinction in his senior year. He further honed his skills with three years of Millwright trade school. His professional journey included roles at Engert Heating & Plumbing and Cherokee Millwright before he joined SL TN, Inc. for the past 14 years. Just 3 days before his passing, Jeremy achieved a lifelong dream by accepting a position at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This milestone stood as a testament to his hard work and perseverance.

Jeremy was known among colleagues as someone who never said no to helping others. Whether offering a kind word or lending a hand on the job site, he brought hard work, warmth, and camaraderie to every workplace. He took immense pride in his craft and carried himself with humility and generosity.

At home and in the community, Jeremy's heart was just as full. He was a loving husband to Olivia McGhee for the past 25 years and a devoted father to their two sons, Chase and Cooper McGhee. His joy was evident when watching his favorite #5 South Doyle High School Cherokee baseball player or coaching young athletes on the baseball field-something he did for years with passion and purpose. Seeing former players grow into successful teenagers and players brought him immense pride.

Jeremy's love for the outdoors was another defining aspect of his life. Hunting and fishing trips with close friends and his boys were cherished escapes where he found peace in nature. Known for having a truck full of kids headed to sporting events, Jeremy often stepped into the lives of those who needed guidance or encouragement, especially those without strong parental support.

Faith played a central role in Jeremy's life. A Sevier Heights Baptist Church member, he participated in the Living Christmas Tree production and served on the Prison Ministry Softball team over the years. His relationship with God was steadfast, carrying him through joyful moments and challenges alike.

He is remembered with love by his wife Olivia; sons Chase and Cooper; mother Gretta Tanner (Charles); father- and mother-in-law Jeff and Susan Suddarth; sister Ginger (Alex) Melhorn and their children Sawyer and Sadie; Alicia McGhee and her children, Austin McCarter; Kinsley McCarter; Madelyn Grubb; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins from both Olivia's and Jeremy's families; many co-workers and buddies who held special places in his heart; hundreds of kids he coached over the years; fellow coaches; and ball families who became like extended family.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, JC (Bud) McGhee Jr, and grandparents, Cassie and Ellis Phillips, and Louise and JC McGhee Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3140 Maloney Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920, in the main sanctuary. A service will immediately follow the celebration. Reverend Don Wilson will be officiating.

Flowers will be received at the church, or, in lieu of that, monetary donations can be sent to assist Jeremy's favorite navy and red baseball team, the Cherokees, in South Knoxville. (Go Kees!)

Jeremy's legacy is one of compassion, service, laughter, and faith-a life lived fully with open arms and an open heart. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. The family appreciates the ongoing prayers and support.

Jeremy was always a kind and special person. Anytime we were together growing up he always made my brother Matt, sister Alicia and I feel included. Special memories of wood working or tinkering with a boat or fishing at the lake with him, Alicia and Ginger with Uncle Bud and Aunt Sharon. I always enjoyed listening to his hunting stories and talking about the Vols. May he rest in peace and know he is dearly missed.

Jeremy and I laughed every time we were together. He never failed to tell me he loved me and he always gave me a hug. His smile was infectious. He loved his family unwaveringly. He will be missed and remembered deeply.
