AGE: 83 • Somerdale
Jerome C. Elder, "Jerry", on May 21, 2017, of Somerdale. Age 83. Beloved husband of Christine Elder (nee Irons) for 57 years. Devoted father of Glenn Elder, Bonnie Clevenger, Darryl Elder, Scott Elder, and Lorri McCormick. Loving Pop-Pop of Brittany, Ilyssa, Aaron, Jett, Jake, Amina, Olivia, Jarrett, Johnathan, Chloe, Erin, and Jada. Dear brother of Marylou Kiefer, Alice Anderson, Joan Schaeffer, and the late Bud, Bill, and Robert Elder. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jerome proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. There will be a viewing from 10am to 12noon Friday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerome's memory to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691. I am heart sick to hear of my favorite neighbor's passing. I lived across the street from Jerry and Christine for 24 years. When my husband passed 10 years ago this month, Jerry and Christine were so kind to me as were my other neighbors. Always checking in to make sure I was ok. I still have the Angel book Jerry and Christine gave me and keep it by my bed side. Jerry always had a kind word and an amazing smile. I will miss him terribly.Love to his wonderful bride and children. You are all in my prayers.

Aunt Chrissie (Giggy!) I was so saddened to hear of Uncle Jerry's passing. Through these times of grief take comfort in your loving, supportive family. Forever cherish the beautiful memories and wonderful times. I remember Uncle Jerry's hearty laugh, huge smile, playing the spoons, the wooden letter holder, coming to Stone Harbor, singing "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean", and pictures of Corey & I in your wedding. I am so grateful to have visited with Uncle Jerry in February. Love, Allyson
