He is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Paul Kaufman and his son Scott Ira Kaufman
He is survived by his daughter, Melisa Joy Kaufman (fiancé Jacques Petrakis); son, David Allen Kaufman (wife Venessa); grandchildren, Jorden, Nik, Zara and Blake; sister, Donna Yesner (the late Mike); niece, Staci; nephew, Stephen (wife Pamela Friedlander); great nephew Theo and great niece Zoe.
The family would like to thank Asbury Court for the care and compassion they showed our loved one over the last year and especially in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral at Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery at 1700 W Rand Road, Arlington Heights on Sunday, June 9 at 10:00 am. Shiva to follow.

Melisa, David, Donna and families, I am so sorry for the loss of my dear friend Jerry. We have been friends since fourth grade communicating on a regular basis. Going through trials and tribulations in person and on the phone. My memories are many but the funniest one we both have talked about all these years is: making matzo Farfel and milk for a snack in the Kaufman´s kitchen. It was the larest disaster you could imagine. Hope you all remember all the good times that he made you smile.

Donna and Jerry's family: I am so sorry. As you know, I grew up with Jerry in the Northside of Minneapolis. I have more memories than I can share in a short note. My condolences to you all and may Jerry's memory be a blessing.
