Jerrica Larrayne Johnson was born June 17, 1992 in Dillon, SC. She was the daughter of Arlene B. Johnson and the late Rev. Larry Dean Johnson, Sr. She departed her life on May 5, 2006 in a car accident. She was in the 8th grade at Darlington Middle School where she was a member of the Band, Academic Challenge Team, News Team, Yearbook Staff, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, South Carolina Junior Scholar and served as a marshal for the junior high graduation. She was a flute player and was selected to the Eastern District Honor band and received a superior ratio for her Solo & Ensemble performance. She was a sixth year dance student for Mrs. Kay Pilgrim, where she served as a student assistant and was awarded her five-year achievement award. She served as a tabulator assistant for Eastern Cheerleaders Association National Competition in Williamsburg, VA. She was a former member of the Young Singers of Darlington and a cheerleader for the Darlington Recreation Department. In the fall, she would have been attending Mayo High School for MST, where he mother is the principal.
At Mount Zion AMEChurch, she was a member of the Joshua Generation Choir, New Generation Symphony, McAllister for Bishop Booster Committee, Young People Department (YPD) and a Come Home for Christmas Disciple.
Left to cherish precious memories are: her mother, Arlene B. Johnson, two brothers, Terrell Brown of Greensville, SC and Larry Dean Johnson, Jr. of the home, grandparents; Carrie & Joe Louis Taiste of Cross, SC and Lee Carolyn Johnson of Dillon,SC, aunts and uncles; Edna &Herbert Bethea of Latta, SC, Lois and Andrew Ford of Cilo, SC, Maggie &Mayo Phillips of Mullins, SC, Barbara and Robert Johnson of Latta, SC, Louise Johnson of Midway, Ga., Danequia and Joey Taiste of Cross, SC, Thelma & Joseph Brown of Cross, SC, Hattie & Earl Brown of Hendersonville, NC; Mrs. Kay Pilgrim, her beloved dance instructor of Darlington, Majoria Sade Addison, her special sister, her many teachers in Dillon School District #2 and Darlington County School District who taught her well, the Darlington Middle School family, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
Visitation will held 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday evening in the Chapel of Ideal Funeral Parlor and other times at the home, 2720 Dewitt Circle, Darlington. Jerrica was a very precious student of mine. With a compassionate heart, she loved all people the same. Her words were always kind. Her smile was beautiful!
