Jerry Bell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 12, 2013.
Jerry Brice Bell, 71, of Las Vegas, passed from this life into his Heavenly life Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, in the peace and comfort of his home, after a valiant battle with COPD and Celiac Disease. Jerry was born March 16, 1941, in Upland, Calif., to John Edwin Bell and Mary Louise Graham Bell. In 1983, he met the love of his life and true soulmate, Linda K. Margo and they married Sept. 22, 1984. Jerry relocated from southern California to Beatty in 1973. He worked for a few local Beatty businesses until 1980, when he accepted the position of deputy sheriff with the Nye County Shefiff's Department. He was eventually assigned to the Mercury Test Site Substation, where he worked until retirement May 3, 2001. In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed weightlifting, drawing, including cartoons, painting, photography and decorating. After retirement, he developed a keen interest in landscaping and created a beautiful lawn. He loved to watch "American Idol" and faithfully voted for his favorite contestant. Jerry was a kind, humble soul whose life was spent in the service of others. He had a unique sense of humor which drew others to him. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Bell; niece, Rose Marie (Dennis) Ridders of Plains, Mont.; and nephew, Perry "Hot Rod" Baris of Idaho. A special thanks is extended to Case Nurse Aaron Hales of GerNet Hospice. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to GeriNet Hospice, 1820 E. Warm Springs Road, Suite 140, Las Vegas, NV 89119, (702) 262-9488.
