Jerry Clemons Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 18, 2024.
Knoxville - Jerry D. Clemons born 12/19/40 to Paul and Ozella Clemons passed away unexpectedly on November 15th 2024. Jerry was born in Cleveland, TN and was one of nine children. He lived in numerous locations while his father served in WW1. He eventually landed in Knoxville, TN and received an education from Rule High School, it was during his high school years that he met the love of his life Jeanette, to whom he married June 1960. He was a self taught master carpenter and proud business owner of Clemons Tile & Remodeling. Jerry and Jeanette went on to have three beautiful children (Ters) Teresa Sliger, (Lil Man) Jerry Dean Clemons, and (Miss) Missy Percell. Jerry was an excellent father and grandfather to all of his kids and grandkids. Amanda Rutter, Lesly Corum,Chad Davenport, Morgan Davenport, Madison Percell, Houston and Hayden Hill. He was passionate about many things including Nascar and his favorite driver Richard Petty. He liked to go on hunting and race trips with his Lil man and friends. He also enjoyed golfing, deep sea fishing as well as vacationing and eating good food with his running buddies Terry Sliger, Mike Corum and Joe Rutter. Jerry loved to read, work Suduko puzzles and was a collector of many things throughout the years. He was dedicated to all of his family and had many special nieces and nephews. He was a loyal supporter of St. Judes Children's hospital, the Veterans association and Knox Co Sheriff's Dept. Although he only had three biological children he considered son in law Terry Sliger and niece (Motor) Melinda Lusby as his own. Jerry never met a stranger and had countless friends whom he loved and respected. He will be missed more than words could ever describe, but we will take comfort in knowing that his last breath here was his first with our maker. His work on this side is complete and his heart is whole again being reunited with his wife Jeanette and grand baby Madi. The day will come when we are all together forever, until then we will carry him in our hearts everyday and rely on our sense of humor and quick witt that he instilled in all of us all. WE his family, his proudest accomplishment will continue to make him proud.

The Family will receive visitation from 4-6PM with service to follow at Click Funeral Home located at 9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville. TN 37923

Missy,
I never had the pleasure of meeting your precious daddy but if he was anything like you, he was the sunshine in the room and always made people feel good about themselves! May peace be with you and memories of him overfill your heart!
Much love, Velvet

Jerry was a good man. A great friend. He did lots of work for me through the years. Including hanging my strawberry wall paper upside down just to mes with me! But that was Jerry. One of a kind. I am sorry I am not able to attend due to health reasons. My thoughts prayers. Hugs. And love are with you all.
