Jerry Derrick 70, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was the owner and operator of Derrick Video and Music Company for 52 years, a company founded by his father Jerry was a longtime member of the Amusement and Music Operators Association, and the Chicago-based organization installed him as its president in September 1996. He held the post for one year. He was a board member and past president of the Valley Eight-Ball Association. He was also a member of West Virginia Music and Vending Association, which in 2001 became the West Virginia Amusement & Limited Video Lottery Association. Jerry Derrick was also a long time donor and supporter of West Virginia University athletics and prided himself on his work and his friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Darris and Betty Derrick. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Gwyn Derrick, his daughters, Amy (Travis) Ellison and Jene' (Joshua) Collins, and his two beloved grandchildren, Travis Cooper Ellison and Vivian Collins. He is also survived by his sister Donna (David) Miller, his nieces Shelly Miller and Haleigh Krieg, his nephews Derrick Miller and Wylie Krieg, and many friends. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home in Charleston with Rev. Steve Sawicki officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
