PEORIA ~ Jerry L. Enos, 79, of Peoria, passed away at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born April 7, 1937 in Henry to Melvin M. “Dan” and Celestine M. “Sally” (Ziegler) Enos. His parents preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Robert K. “Bob” Enos; two sisters, Janice Oates and Jackie Workman and his companion of many years, Evelyn “Evie” Zimmerman.
Surviving are one sister, Jean Christy of Pekin; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry had served in the Army Reserves.
He worked at Schenley Distributing in Peoria until their closing. He also formerly owned and operated “Two Door Tap” in Peoria and delivered flowers for Marilyn’s Bow-K in Bartonville after retirement.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with private inurnment in Calvary Cemetery in Henry. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tazewell Animal Protective Society, 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554. Jerry loved all animals, especially his dogs. He leaves behind beloved parrot.
