Remembering Jerry fondly.

To Jerry's Family,
Jerry was a professor of mine at GW Law MLT studies in the early 1980s. He chose my paper to publish in a journal that he edited. It was the beginning of a professional friendship based on mutual interest in the law of charitable giving and the law of tax exempt organizations. And, we were both from Pittsburgh. For years we would meet every couple of months for lunch at what seemed to be a favorite restaurant of his, The Daily Grill at 18th & M in DC. Over the years I learned a lot from him and enjoyed talking shop with him. I was sorry to learn that he passed away. I hope I did not miss the service in DC. If that is still to happen, please let me know. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Jerry was one of my best friends while we were law students at Duke. He was one of the kindest and funniest people I have ever known. I was honored to be his friend. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on his passing.

I met Jerry when he was a Duke Law School student and I was a Duke undergraduate. He was a very funny, intelligent, and kind person. To this day, I still quote some of the amusing things he used to say. I'm so very sorry to hear that he has died, but there will lots of fresh laughter in heaven from now on!

Jerry was a good friend. We talked several times about work we were doing on similar issues.
