Jerry Reeser Obituary
EAST PEORIA - Jerry F. Reeser, age 85, of East Peoria passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on Monday, December 28, 2020, at 4:53 a.m. He is now in his heavenly home, sitting at the feet of his Lord and Savior.
He was born to Charles A. and Mary Margaret (Zilch) Reeser on January 27, 1935, in Peoria. He married Shirley Jean Wheeler on October 5, 1958, in East Peoria.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley of East Peoria; children, Jeffrey (Angie) Reeser of East Peoria and Robin (David) Howat of East Peoria; grandchildren, Brad (Kenzie Andrews) Reeser, Justin (Molly) Reeser, Nichole (Emmanuel) Williamson, Jeremy (Sheryl Irby) Howat and Jessica (Jason) Peplow; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Clinton (Gerry) Reeser of East Peoria, Charles (Connie) Reeser of Laurel, MT, and Dan (Donna) Reeser of East Peoria; and his best buddy, Maggie May.
Jerry was a member of the 1953 EPHS graduating class and spent his life working hard to care for his family. After retiring from Mitsubishi, he spent his time enjoying his family, especially his grandchildren, and watching NASCAR and the St. Louis Cardinals. At the age of 85, he still enjoyed regularly mowing 17 yards. Jerry enjoyed worshiping at Eastside Bible Church in Morton.
A public visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Covid protocol will be followed. Burial will be private at Fondulac Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to TAPS.

I worked with Jerry at MMNA for several years. He was always happy and made work go by quickly. It was sad enough when he retired but was happy for him. He will be missed,

Please know that I am thinking of all of you during this trying time. So many good memories, it's difficult to express in words how sad I feel for the Reeser family. For over 50 years, the sincere love, support and friendship Jerry and Shirley gave our family will always be deeply appreciative, and for that I am so grateful to have known him. Peace be with you.
