Jerry Davis Springer

Jerry Davis Springer, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 25, 2024.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 26th, 1939 and grew up in Lancaster. He served in the Army and spent time in Korea. Jerry had a lifelong passion for learning. He was an avid reader and passionate conversationalist. His personal library housed subjects ranging from plants to prayer. He taught himself to read and write Spanish and Korean and never left home without at least two pens and a highlighter tucked securely in his button-up shirt. He was the original teller of dad jokes. When his punch line elicited an eye roll, his laughter alone was contagious. The most notable thing about Jerry was his faith. Jerry loved Jesus. His beliefs were firm and unshakeable. "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." Psalm 28:7

He is survived by his children; Eric Springer, Bryon Springer (Veronica), Daniel Springer (Deb), Kim Springer, Jeremiah Springer (Kysbeth), Amber Austin (Stephen), 14 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his daughter Ruth and his grandson Kyle.

At Jerry's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, donations can be made to the Fairfield County District Library.
