Jessamine M Carter

CARTER, Jessamine Martin, 87, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Feb. 13, 2013. Jessie was born in Conway, SC on September 18, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Nathaniel B. and Mattie Beulah Martin Belcher. Jessie met her husband, the late James Carter in Durham, NC and they were married in the early 1940's. They made their home in Durham until a job transfer for James to the VA Hospital in Bay Pines, FL in 1959. Jessie has resided in Largo since that time. She was employed by the city of Largo. Jessie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks and the Esther Sunday School class. Jessie was a creative seamstress, decorator, gardener and animal lover. She is survived by a son, James David Carter, a brother, Dr. Clifton B. Belcher and wife, Eunice of Raleigh, NC, and one nephew, Gregory D. Belcher of Raleigh, NC, nieces, Lisa Bellina of Charlotte, NC and Angela Service of Madison, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Ministry at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33774. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Monday, February 18, 2013 at Moss-Feaster Funeral Home, Largo.
