CLIFTON, Jesse Neal May 2, 1931 - February 17, 2011 Born on May 2, 1931 in Barons Alberta, tragically on February 17, 2011, while vacationing in Costa Rica in his 80th year. Jesse Clifton of Petawawa, predeceased by his late wife Inge Clifton (nee Hoffmann). Leaving to mourn his loving wife and companion Elinor Clifton (nee deLottinville), Petawawa, sisters Lucy Bedingfield-Wehrfritz and Pearl Noordhof, sister-in-law Thelma Clifton, sons Ben (Sharon) and David (Dorothy), his grand-daughters Tanya and Karolann and great-grandson Korben See and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents James and Elsie, brothers Walter, Barry, Gene and Heaber, sisters Annie Evans, Mary Sowden and Rita Bondarenko. Also sharing in the loss are his step children Judith Maahs (Micheal), Joan Weichenthal (Keith), Janice Labelle (Gary) and Barry Laabs and their children Devin Maahs (Nicole), Shawn Maahs (Chris); Kirk Weichenthal (Tara), Tanya Reid (Blaine), Lori Weichenthal; Chris Labelle (Sara); April Laabs and Nathan Laabs and step great-grand children Bryce; Blake, Allie; Molly, Jayne and Daniel. Jesse also left behind many friends and colleagues throughout his military career as an artillery gunner, real estate agent as well as his many years of service to the Shriners Tunis Temple, the Eastern Ontario Gunners' Association and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517 Petawawa. Legion Members of Legion Br. 517 are requested to assemble at the Funeral Home on Friday at 7:00 for a service at 7:30 p.m. Members of the Pembroke Masonic Lodge 128 AM & FM and sister lodges are requested to assemble at the Funeral Home on Friday at 6:30 for a service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the Malcolm, Deavitt & Binhammer Funeral Home, 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 454 Miller St., Pembroke on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces, Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Artillery Heritage Fund or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.)
