Jesse Coburn Obituary

Jesse Thomas Coburn III, age 48, of Texico, NM passed away April 28, 2015, in Chavez County, NM.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2015, at Muffley Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 2, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Farwell with Pastor Russ Ponders officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace in Farwell, TX. Roger Robertson, Ray Galvan, Jason Williams, Kenny Edgington, Jaren Phelps, and Jarrell Williams will serve as pallbearers.
Jesse was born on April 21, 1967, in Bakersfield, CA. He was welcomed by his parents, Jessie Thomas Jr. and Florine Coburn, as well as two sisters, Vicki and Patricia. Jesse moved to Farwell, TX, at the age of two and graduated from Farwell high School. Jesse's energy was larger than life. His smile and sense of humor were infectious and welcoming. He was always able to fill a room with laughter, making even complete strangers feel like old friends. he was a great friend to many, who will always remember Jesse's one-of-a-kind laugh. But to Jesse, his most important title was dad to his son Mason and two daughter Lindsi and Kynlee. He loved cheering Lindsi on at sporting events, riding horses with Kynlee and motorcycles with Mason, and simply enjoying spending as much time as possible with them. Jesse was always willing to drop anything to be with his children and he always treasured his time with them.
Survivors include is son, Mason Coburn of Lubbock, TX; two daughters, Lindsi Coburn and Kynlee Coburn of Farwell, TX; mother, Florine Coburn of Farwell, TX; sister, Patricia Pheleps of Texico, NM; three nephews, Jaren Pheleps, Kenneth Edlington, and Jason Williams; and numerous extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Coburn Jr.; sister, Vicki Williams, and grandparents, Jesse Sr. and Mona Coburn.

I have know Jesse for too many years to count then when went to work for the RR I was ticked pink to see him again. I will miss his enticing smile and twinkling eyes. Rest my friend the ride on your slippery silver rail has take to you the place we all want to be some day.

My 4 year old grandson (Ryan Fierro) would get excited every time the train would run through town (Artesia, NM) and the train employees would tap the horn and wave at him, he would wave back. Sadly he won't see him anymore. Our deepest condolences in your loss, our prayers.
