Published by Legacy Remembers on May 16, 2011.
Jesse Robert Jewett, 31, of Columbia died at his home on Monday, May 16th, after a courageous fight against cancer. He was supported by his lady, best friend and family throughout this fight and at the time of his death. He maintained a sense of grace, determination and courage each step of the way. Jesse earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Columbia College and was an Account Sales Manager for Pepsi. He was an excellent craftsman who enjoyed designing and creating projects, and was meticulous in all details. Jesse planned to go into the construction business with his dad in the future. Jesse loved life and lived it fully and well. Known as “J-Dub to his friends, Jesse enjoyed sports, old school rap, music and movies, and was an avid video game player. He possessed a quick sense of humor, strong intelligence, and amazing memory for details, and was the one you turned to if you needed to recall a sports fact, or movie line, or the name of the band. Jesse liked to drive a nice car and a fast jet ski, and wore meticulous shoes well matched with his clothes. He was a great companion during many adventures and unforgettable times with friends and family. A private man in many ways, his personality, strength, courage and smile will be remembered and missed by all. The family would like to acknowledge the excellent treatment and support from his team at MO Cancer Associates, who saw him as an individual and treated him with caring and respect. Jesse is survived by his lady and love, Mary Grupe; his parents, Bob and B. J. Jewett; sister Megan Gordon and husband, Doug, and adored niece Lily; the Grupe family, Greg, Dixie and John; “brother Dallas Mallory, and extended family members.
