Jesse Monroe Lewis

Lewis, Jesse M. "Pat" passed away on July 17, 2024 at home with his daughter Candy and son Steven present at the age of 94. He was born April 18, 1930, the 4th child of Jesse and Laura Lewis in Los Angeles, Ca. When he was 17 he joined the Army on April 23, 1947 only to move to the newly created United States Air Force in September 1947. He served as a firefighter. He received an honorable discharge April 26, 1950. He enjoyed the USAF as well as talking about it. It was his time in the USAF that led to his penchant for all things in the aerospace industry. He would say that the difference between the two was in the Army you got mush/slop and in the Air Force you got steak and eggs. He followed the USAF's sports programs too. He worked various jobs including North American Rockwell where he supervised a 9 man crew that installed all the plastic parts in the space capsules. I, as his son, Steven was fortunate to have him live with me for the last 11 years.

He's survived by his ex-wife Clairice San Nicolas; daughter, Candyce Lewis; son, Steven Lewis, Step-Daughters; Rebecca Ojeda, Laura Ojeda. Grandchildren; Edward Ferguson; Jason Ellis; Jessica Ellis-Mills; Daniel Ferguson; Jesse Lewis, Grand Daughter In Law; Taisha Lewis; Great-Grandchildren; Lantz Ferguson, Isara Ferguson, Nicholas Mills, Kristen Mills, Jacob Lewis, Joseph Lewis, Michael Witt, Benjamin Lewis, Jessie Lewis. Nephews and Nieces; Richard Williams, C.C. Landis, Anne Hart, Theodore Williams, Robert Williams, David Jones, Diana Jones, Herbert K Cooper, Brian Lewis, Beverly Lewis. Grand Nephews and Nieces; Scott Jones, Walter "Zach" Jones, Kimberly Jones Blanco, Christine Marie Jones Baker, Step-Son Stephen De Pue, Step-Daughters Marcia De Pue Votava, Frankie Michelle De Pue.
