Jesse Ramon Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 23, 2019.
Jesse Robles Ramon passed away quietly at his home after a fifteen year struggle with prostate cancer. He was born in San Antonio, Texas as one of the ten children of Salamona "Sally" Robles and Jesús DiFranco "Jesse Frank" Ramon. Like most men of his generation he proudly served his country in the Korean War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. There he was decorated for his service, valor, and duty. While his heroic efforts for our Nation left him as a disabled veteran, he was able to spend much of his life in the Bexar County area in various business pursuits. Jesse was also an avid horseman and trail rider, participating in many trail rides in Texas and Nebraska. His civic interests included membership in the Asociación de Charros San Antonio, and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Teresa Pedroza Ramon, his sister Margarita Ramon de Gaston (Clear Lake), and brother, Rudolfo "Rudy" Ramon (El Paso). His extended family includes 8 children, 28 grand children, and 28 great grand children, including: Kathleen (Jesse, Melissa, and Kristina); Jesse Frank (Crystal, Victoria, and Isabella); Tommy (Adam, Lindsay, and Leslee); Christine; Anna (Fermin, Rey, Samantha, and Teresa); Desire (Ashly, Chris, Kyle, and Marshall); Jesse James (Justin, Keanu, and Katie); and Raymond (Josh, Brittany, Zack, Zoey, and Corey). He was preceded in death by three grand children (Nathan, Laura, and Nick).

A memorial service will be held on June 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Davis Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas. The Rosary and private funeral service will be held in San Antonio on June 10, 2019, with interment at the National Cemetery at Fort Sam Houston on June 11, 2019 at 11:30 a.m., with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
