My name is Herbie Floyd. About 10 years ago Jess used to babysit my sister, brother, and me in Newton. Even though I was only around 11 or 12 at the time, Jess's vibrant presence and spirit are something that I could absolutely never forget. Immediatly after my mother told me about Jess's passing I started praying. It began with sadness, many tears, and questions of why something like this would ever happen. Some time later these feelings turned entirely into joyful memories that my whole family had shared with her. I still vividly remember playing basketball with her and my brother in our driveway. Being the great athlete that she was, she didn't miss much from the mid-range at all... Everytime she would sink a shot she would yell smoooth as buttahhhh!!. My brother and I still say the phrase to this day and think about her every time. It was moments like this where Jess's enthusiasm and spirit created memories that we will never forget for as long as we live. Her legacy will always carry on and none of us will ever forget the impact she had on our lives, even if it was 10 years ago playing ball in the driveway. Jess had qualities about herself that are hard to explain but were completely contagious and always uplifting. Because of who she was and how she treated everyone around her, Jess's memory and impact on our lives is everlasting. We love you so much.

Dear Bobby, Owen, and Quinn. I am so very sad to hear of the passing of Jess. She had the best smile, sweetest personalities. One of the things I admired was her strength and endurance to live. I will never forget her and the memories we had together with our family. She is loved and will always be in my heart. I am sorry she had to go through this battle and pain, but she was a fighter! Not only for herself but she wanted to live for you three especially. She loved her family and stayed strong this I know from our last conversation in N.H. She will never be forgotten.
My aunt died in a similar situation at the age of 28. There was this poem I will never forget.
"God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be. So he wrapped his arms around you and whispered: "come unto me". You didn't deserve what you went through, and so he gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful. he only takes the best. So when you saw her sleeping, so peaceful and free. We could not wish you to come back to suffer that all again."
I believe this is true with my whole heart. We can't understand and will never understand why God does what he does, but I believe he needed her, he needed her to be one of his right-hand angels. Maybe it was for her determination, maybe for her strength. Maybe he saw her pain and just thought it was for the best. I can't explain it, but you must have faith. Look for her signs, the strangest things happen when one dies. She will always be there this I know for sure. Her love will live on and I am sure you will have wonderful stories to tell. I am so sorry you all have to suffer this, I know it's not easy, but if you ever need anything, anything at all. Please don't hesitate, we will always be here.
Sending so much love and many hugs, I can't imagine your pain. Love you all.
With love
