I just came across a Thank You card Jessie wrote to us on July 7, 2007. Jessie thanked us for taking her to Las Vegas with my grandson Cody Taylor and for the fun she had in Arizona with us. Although, time has gone forward, We will never forget lovely Jessie with her bright smile and friendly demeanor.
Wishing the entire Mitchell Family good heath and be safe during this difficult time in our country.
With sincere gratitude for knowing Jessie.

The loss of Jessie has brought me to tears many times over the last year. It breaks my heart that she is gone. I will always remember the times she came to visit Cody in Phoenix, with a smile on my face. We had so much fun on our trip to Sedona. She wanted her mother to have something from there because she thought it was such a beautiful place. Thank you so much for allowing her to visit us and the opportunity to love her. She will be missed.
Best regards,
Laurie Taylor

My heart hurt for all of you, I talked with you several months back at a LaCrosse
game (Mitch).... I too have had the loss of two sons at two different times in my life. Jessica wants your hurting to be behind you, it will get easier. The first year is truly the hardest, live just
knowing there are so many happy memories of her in your lives. Enjoy everyday, as though it were your last, life is way too short. God bless you all.

Jessie-
It's been almost one year since you passed away and I still do not think I have come to terms with it. You have given me so many signs...but I find them hard to accept because they are such tiny things compared to the vibrant Jessie I always knew. I love so much, and swear I miss you more every day. Robbie talks about you every day. I love you so much...words can't describe how much you being gone has left a void in me. I love you little sister, forever. Love, Maddie

To the Family of Jessie Mitchell,
I want to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beautiful daughter, Jessie. Our hearts go out to your entire family for this tremendous loss. Although, we cannot comprehend the reasons why she was taken from this earth so early … with such a promising life ahead of her, please know our family will always remember her; her bright smiling face…a shining star filled with such enthusiasm and wonder.
I had the privilege of meeting Jessie through my grandson, Cody Taylor. Jessie had been friends with Cody since they met during a summer camp when they were just 13. In 2007, Jessie spent time with our family on two occasions; for Cody’s high school graduation in May and in July when we traveled to Las Vegas for my daughter’s birthday.
Jessie was a bright young woman whom we all enjoyed. I will cherish the Thank You card she sent me after she returned home to Illinois. There was a special connection with Jessie that I will never forget.
With Love and Peace,
December 10, 2010
I have not met your daughter...I have children her age and can empathize with you and your loss. I hope that something positive will come from this loss because that is what we see she would want from this tragic event.

Although I never met Jessie, my son was part of her life for a short while and used words like "awesome" to describe her. I am truly sorry for your loss and may you find comfort in God's grace and peace during this sorrowful time.

I am so proud to have called Jessie my little sister. Jessie was one of the most spirited people that I have ever known. I am so blessed that I was able to have 20 years of her for my own. Thank you for being my sister Jessie and I know you will be looking out for me and your nephews. I love you so much.

To the Mitchell family,
I had the privilege of meeting Jessie through friends that I had worked with a few months ago. I will never forget her warm, outgoing, and vivacious personality. She is one of those rare gems god sends to us to remind us of how we should live our lives; with open arms and hearts. I am so sorry for your loss and I pray for your family and for Jessie daily. I want you all to know what a wonderful woman you raised, and her impact on my life will be everlasting. I can only wish to have Jessie's outlook on life. Just know that she has touched the lives of so many and will continue to do so. Always remember you will never stand alone.

Dearest Jessie,
I cannot begin to tell you how much I love you and will miss you every day of life from here on out. I have so many things I wish I had done with you before this happened, we had soo many plans for the future. You are the most beautiful and compassionate person I have ever known, and you are truly the only person who fully understood me. You are and always will be my best friend. I know, where ever you may be, you are happy.
I love you jessie.

The Mitchells were the first neighbors to say hi to us when we moved into Rock Creek in 2000. I was delighted that Deanna would have such lovely girls to spend time with, and that I found good friends in Carrie and Mitch.
While I love all the girls, Jessie stood out as the one who was shining with the light of optimism. She was always very special to me. We were so happy that she made a surprise visit to see us in the summer of 2009. I will cherish that memory.
Jessie is one of the best people I know. Always smiling. Always happy. I love her like my own. My heart misses her sorely.

Dear Mitchell Family,
We are so deeply sorry for your loss. We were very fortunate to get to know Jessie through our daughter Lauren. Jessie visited our home several times in Edmond and we found her a wonderful person. She had an engaging personality and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. Lauren treasured their friendship and we will all miss her terribly.

Memories of Jessie make me smile! She was warm, funny and a very talented young woman when I knew her as a middle schooler. From her pictures, it looked like those attributes were still part of the adult that Jessie was becoming. All of us who knew her at Eldorado K-8 School in Superior loved her and are so sad. We will keep our memories of her as that smiling young girl!

Dear Carrie and Mitch,
My heart goes out to you and your family and to all those many, many friends that Jessie made along the way. Jessie was a beautiful person, she loved life and wasn't afraid to live it. How hard this is for us all. I am so fortunate to have known Jessie, if just for a moment in this life. So many talents, so much energy. She was loved by so many. I will miss her.

I was fortunate enough to meet and spend some time with Jessie when she lived in Chicago. I was visiting Maddie and upon meeting Jessie she walked right up to me and gave me a "great to meet you" hug. I was taken aback as she was about 17 at the time and her warm welcome took me by surprise. I thought "what a wonderful, beautiful girl to make me feel so welcome". I got to know her a bit over the next few days and her presence just lit up the room. I am so sorry that she is gone - there is an empty space on the planet that cannot be refilled, but there is a brighter star shining in the sky.
