Jessica Leigh Mullen

Jessica Leigh Mullen, 32 died March 23, 2017 at her childhood home with her family by her side. She did not go peacefully; she fought until the end like the warrior she has always been. She had her Nana's strength, her mother's iron will and a stubbornness all her own. She leaves behind her parents Nancy and Bill Gormours, her brother Grant Simmons, her son Stephen Nuzman, his father Jeremiah Nuzman and Grandmother Lillie Nuzman, her Aunt Alexis Valentine, cousins Sean McLane, Justin and Preston Parfitt and their families, and her Godmothers Allison Kipp and Beth Lawhorn. Jessica was a beautiful spirit that brought chaos and joy where ever she went. She believed that you should be true to who you are and it is that lesson she taught not just her son but her parents. During the end of her long battle with cancer she was asked, how do you want to be remembered? She said to please say the following: Remember all of me start to finish not just when I was ill. I want to be remembered as Jessi, Mother of Stephen. Jessica, Rock-n-Roll Joan of Arc. Jessi, She would try almost anything. Jessi, Music made her feel whole. Jessi, A Natural Blue. Jessica was kaleidoscope ever changing and more beautiful with each new turn and twist of her life. She loved everything from facebook to food and coloring to concerts. Everything was fun to her even if it didn't start out that way. To her life was just a big game and the prize was always shoes. She will be missed terribly by all who loved her, and those that do are grateful she is at peace and no long in any pain.
