It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jessie Patrick Berthelot, age 59, who passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, in Houma, LA. Born on May 11, 1965, in the same town he called home throughout his life.
Jessie was a devoted husband to his wife Missy Kraemer Berthelot, a loving father to his daughter Mandy Kraemer (Beldron, Jr.) and son Dustin Berthelot (Brooke); grandchildren, Bryton Forest, Kinsley Berthelot, Basal Forest, and Kaiden Berthelot; siblings, John (Chasity), Erica (Archie); mother-in-law, Cookie Kraemer; brother-in-law, Buddy Kraemer (Monica); numerous nieces and nephews, and dear close friends.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, James and Dorothy Scott Berthelot; brother, James Berthelot, Jr.; father-in-law, Larry Kraemer, and his two loving dogs, Princess and Sage.Jessie's impact on those around him was profound, as he devoted his time to serving as an Assistant Chief at a Volunteer Fire Department, showing care and compassion to all, he was also a member of the Brothers in Blue Motorcycle Club. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending quality time with family and friends at the campgrounds, pulling floats during Mardi Gras, or riding his beloved motorbikes with his closest companions. His love for his Harley's and the thrill of the open road were unmatched, reflecting his free spirit and zest for life. Anyone who knew Jessie, knew he put everyone before himself. He never met a stranger and was a blessing to have known.
Jessie had an unwavering dedication to his work in the concrete industry, operating as a front end loader to provide for his family. His hard work and perseverance served as a testament to his strength of character and willingness to overcome any obstacle that came his way.
Above all, Jessie adored and loved his children and grandchildren. The time spent with them was brought with love, care, compassion, and making beautiful memories. He will be cherished by the love of his life, Missy. They were married for 32 amazing years.
In honor of Jessie's memory, a funeral service will be held in the Magnolia Chapel at Chauvin Funeral Home on Saturday, September 28, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until his Reflection of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery No. 2. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his memory will forever be cherished by his beloved family and friends.
